Goldie, can you give us a teaser on what you'll be wearing for the big gala? Versace? a jock strap? never can be too safe with all those rascally words flying around on the big stage. do you recommend the pre-event VIP (very important pussies) dinner?

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 pointless conservative comments.

i'd count KIRO FM as a conservative talk station, too. that's three.

seattle also "supports" THREE sports stations.

I love how doom posts. Starts with one, a few minutes pass and everyone ignores him, posts again, waits a few more minutes, nobody replies, and posts again.

I think he really, really wants Goldy to acknowledge him. That, or he has a fetish for older, balding, overweight male Jews.

I also think if we left this thread alone, by morning they'd of made a good 100 different pointless posts.

I just love imaging them sitting there, staring at the page, hoping and hoping that maybe someone, somewhere will come along and say, "you know, you're inane ramblings are correct."

Also, wondering why doom isn't posting as Bailo anymore.

"I also think if we left this thread alone, by morning they'd of made a good 100 different pointless posts."

Honest question: Who is "we"? and Who is "they"?

Goldy had a good show.

I used to listen to conservative talk radio much more, but it has really gotten repetitive, predictable, and dull - and just plain ridiculous. And local conservative talk show hosts are just annoying.

Awwwww, Bloated jesus, it's ok to be scared to answer some easy questions.

Listen, from now on, i'll try to remember to mimic your vague pointless comments, ok?

Am I the only one to listen to 91.3 KBCS?

I just love how people like Goldy, who go on and on about diversity of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity etc and how Seattle needs more of it (which I agree, btw) are so against diversity of ideas.

Yes, Seattle has conservative talk radio. And? What, is Seattle only supposed to be for Marxists? What's wrong with having people who you may not agree with on everything in your city, expressing their views?

Oh, and the reason there is more conservative talk than liberal on the airwaves is because conservatives tend to be older and younger people are more into the web than traditional radio.

Progressive radio is on it's death bed for two reasons: owners don't like progressive talk and too many of the "liberal" talkers weren't willing to stand up to the right-wing antics of Obama. Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, Ed Shultz were great at going after Bush but as soon as Obama came to office and began to show he intended to continue the same policies they kept there mouths shut or defended him.

@12 Only public radio station I give money to. Because, unlike Nice Polite Republicans or those mentioned @14, they have ACTUAL leftists on in the form of Democracy Now, who aren't afraid to criticize the government from the left and hurt the fee-fees of NPR-huffing centrists who imagine themselves to be liberal.

I'm also a big fan of Thom Hartmann. He's too soft-ball WRT the Dems, but I admire his craft. He's about the only talk jock on radio I've ever been able to listen to for extended periods.

If The Young Turks or Majority Report were radio shows, I would listen to them. But if I have all the hardware and files at hand, I just listen to newsy podcasts like Best of the Left or TWIB.FM (or Democracy Now, since I'm not usually listening to radio when they air here, anyway).

Bottom line is I'm not that attracted to the talk radio format. Filling multiple hours every day generally leads to a lot of inane jabbering unless the host is truly outstanding. Then throw in a bunch of crappy commercials and buzzy AM band sound and I am out of there immediamente.

@15, you know you can listen to the Majority Report on majority.fm. And Sam even has a smart phone app where you can listen as well.

Also, Democracy Now was only on KPTK once or twice on the weekends; it was never part of the standard weekday line up since it would have cut into the morning zoo...I mean Stephanie Miller's three hours. And Thom isn't bad and he's quite smart. But I agree that he is WAY too soft on the corporate Democrats and Republicans.
17
Ticket sales have ended. Can you pay at the door?
18
I answered my own question. Yes, you can. $20.
19
Wait, 1090 is no longer KPTK? When did that happen?

I guess that's what I get for ignoring old-world media forms.

I'm pretty sure I count as a progressive, and the idea of progressive talk radio gives me the creeps. Talk radio sucks. Get a podcast, but don't ask me to listen.

Please wait...
