I realize The Stranger is new to the whole SportsBall fandom thing, and fuck Oklahoma City right in the earhole and all, but as awesome as the First Lady is, she did not "dunk on" LeBron James, which would have involved him defending against her and her elevating over him, she dunked on a basket he was holding.
It's super-encouraging to think that Mark Zuckerberg will be, properly, viewed as a disease. However, as thrilled as I am at the prospect of FB flaming out (and no doubt, he is worried this will come to pass and has used his current pile of cash to snatch up snapchat and other up-and-comers), is a replacement social media required? In other words, is this just a matter of the cool kids needing to continually migrate to the newest, most obscure (and therefore hippest) service. I mean, I was a cool kid once - I had access to this thing in the 80s that we called USENet. I still hang out with those cool kids, but we had to take it to a private mailing list.
TLDR; is FB really like Myspace where you need something new for people to move to?
@ 8, I'm not sure what you're getting at, possibly because it seems to be coming from your "thrill at the prospect of FB flaming out." As someone who finds FB to be the absolute ideal way to keep in touch with the many cool people I've encountered since childhood, I don't share your thrill.
I think social networking, especially FB, works very well for those who just want to keep in touch and maybe make friends with people who have common interests, and do it all with very little effort and no need to worry how people might take your small talk and jokes, as you would in person. I think there will always be social networking as a result. If people do flee FB, I think for many it will because something better came along, just as FB came along and destroyed Myspace. Others may flee because it isn't their thing, or because they tire of FB's flaws and attempts to use personal information for their own ends, but that's been there for six years at least.
I guess my tl;dr summation is that, in my case, yes, I would need something new to move to if I were to leave FB.
Stupid Repulitards are shooting their budgets in the foot.
Plainly the word should be Yakimaniacs.
I didn't know attorneys had to disclose why they selected jurors for dismissal or not.
The last time I had jury duty, it was obvious to everyone in the room that the defense was getting rid of all the Hispanics. Nobody seemed to care.
Here endeth the lesson.
