I would call ahead. It does stand to reason that all bars/taverns/restaurants in the city/county/state with a TV monitor will be open Sunday. However, a fellow at my local super market said at least one bar will be closed, Sand Point Bar & Grill (do double check). And get there early as I believe they will be madhouses and expensive.

Suggestion: have your own party. As long as you have a TV, make it a pot luck and have guests bring food & drink. Would be much cheaper and you could have a game pool. I know. I've hosted several parties in the past that have been well received.

football =/= lettuce wraps
3
If you watch the Super Bowl at a bar you need more friends. It's to be watched at a house party.

Was at Triple Door last night for the amazing Cheryl Wheeler show (she killed it). Warning: the food was not what it used to be. Burnt tofu, and the pad thai was seasoned poorly.

Just a warning, because food wise, it was not a good night for them.
5
@1 what if you have no friends but want to be around people?
6
sorry, that was meant to be @3.

Go osprey!

Or, come back osprey! They migrate, so there are no osprey within a thousand miles of Seattle right now.

(For entertainment purposes only. Not intended to be a factual number of miles. Cars can't drive on trains.)

@5/6 and @3 by proxy, or if you have friends, but none of them like "sportsball." I went to a bar for the NFC championship (The Wurst Place in SLU) and it was an excellent time.
9
What about family-friendly places? We don't have tv, and my kids are making some chatter about wanting to watch it. I don't completely believe them, but I'd like to have a place in mind just in case they're serious.
10
@9: maybe the library will open their bug room again?

(The main blurb says the Triple Door will be open and bills it as "family friendly"...but I would find another spot if you're looking for food... Hanoumatoi's [@4] experience mirrors mine. Whatever luster Wild Ginger had as far food goes vaporized several years ago. The food just utterly sucks these days.)

@9 - Hilliard's Brewing in Ballard is showing the game, dog & kid friendly. Featuring their '12th Can' beer.
12
But which bars will be having the I don't give a flying fuck about sportsball parties? I'd like to be sure to patronize one of those.
13
going to scope out triple door since they have reservations for a table and no cover -- given that most sports bars are going to be bursting at the seams I'll take a table with a side plate of burnt thai.
14
@12,

Any bar that doesn't have a TV?

@4,

Every night is a bad night at Wild Ginger.
15
@9 - You've been telling your kids about football? Don't you think they're a little young for that kind of talk?

Thanks, @11 - that sounds perfect

@10/14: Good to know. I guess we'll skip the main dish when we go in March =(.

The Skylark in West Seattle is all ages and just got a huge screen up. Not many all ages spots around we parents can feel comfortable having their kids and get a drink.

Please wait...
