Skis don't make you safer either. You can break your neck or die in an avalanche. When idiots do stupid thing with skis they get hurt or killed. When skis are handled by responsible adults who consistently obey safety rules, they can have a place and be used with much less risk of accidents.

I'm not "slaughtering innocents". That would be George W Obama killing kids in Pakistan with drone attacks or killing Palestinian kids by proxy through supporting the apartheid state of Israel.
Also, the gun industry is actually small compared to many other industries, like entertainment and big labor, that have much larger lobbying groups.
Don't like weed? don't smoke it. Don't like abortions? Don't have one. Don't like guns? DON'T CARRY ONE. Does it make us slightly less safe to have the right to bear arms? Maybe, maybe not. But a society that values security over liberty doesn't deserve, nor will it have, either.
