True Detective is pretty great, I have been pirating the shit out of that one. No really a fan of McConaughey, but he is knocking it out of the park. This goes without saying, but Woody Harrelson is also excellent.
Silicon Valley is a strip mall-laden hellhole, and the highlighting of its hellholishness is a big part of what made Office Space so funny. This show looks similarly inclined.
I know Paul probably is anti-pirating, but couldn't he still make that a poll option? And apparently loads of HBO subscribers share their HBO To Go login info (does that still work?).
True Detective rocks, although I'm getting nervous I'll be let down by the ending. But a certain 6-minute scene a few episodes ago was one of the best TV moments in the past year.
Girls has been really disappointing this season. Last night's episode almost seemed like an episode of Smash.
Especially after the recent comment from HBO that it doesn't mind the pirating - in specific reference to Game of Thrones, but I'm cheerfully extrapolating.
i'd rather watch this than more rape and murder and rape/murder shows. like true detective - which looks great, but its more rape & murder. it's why I like veep, and yes, girls. and why downton abbey pissed me off so royally this season.
you should check out mike judges interview with alex jones [on youtube]. I agree with u that Judge is the best ever but he basically agrees across the board w/ his good buddy Jones who is arguably the most right-wing dude in america today. I just dont see how your adoration of Judge is in anyway consistent with pretty much everything I've seen you [or anyone else at the stranger] write. [the stance on Snowden would be an exception]
This is about as timely and socially relevant as the Wolf of Wall Street. Does it take seven years to get from concept to production still? So long that Hollywood, as always, is writing history, not prophecy.
Oh good! Another show about men, most of whom are white. I am super intrigued to understand more about the complexity and nuance of the American Male Experience.
I worked in the tech industry in Silicon Valley back in the 1980's and I have no desire to relive that experience in any way. I can't imagine the place (or the people) have gotten any better or more interesting since then.
Girls still sucks.
But you could do this:

"I'm a competent internet denizen and I will make this show appear before me if and when I choose."
Absolutely agree. I haven't enjoyed a show - or been on the edge of my seat - so much since some of the more high-tension episodes of Breaking Bad.
As to this, I'm on board the minute I see Martin Starr, especially since he's in a role he's so great at: condescending, self-important nerd.
This is Mudede-level stupid.
