Where does the pool barge go in the winter? What if we split the cost of the pool barge with a city in the southern hemisphere? It can spend the true, northern summer here, and the southern summer (or "fool's summer") in, say, Sydney.
2
The pool barge.... a gathering place for creepiness and chemically treated liquid that once was water. Yuck. Give me a beach with regular beach water.
3
I love the gull warming pool.
4
I only support it if the pool has a glass bottom. This seems like a no brainer to me.
5
No, I don't want any of this bullshit. I want better mass transportation, a living wage, universal healthcare, that sort of thing. But thanks for asking.
6
What 5 said. This is a no-brainer.
7
Gimme, I'll be there.
8
Dial it back, way back.

I've got open rain water ditches, missing sidewalks, and shitty transit.
So, I'm not interested in paying for Council District 2 and 7 pool party, nope.
9
Yeah that'll serve 40 or 50 citizens at a time. "Sorry ma'am, there's a 90 minute wait to use the Waterfront Pool."
Just another load of crap on the waterfront like $13 Ferris wheel. Welome to Seattle, the new Tacky Tourist Trap Town™

a beach along this stretch is not feasible. no one swims at the one in the sculpture park. we already have coleman pool - this would be similar, i'd imagine. admission will be charged. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/aquatics/co…

should coleman be closed till you get your universal healthcare? can we ever have some fun? people aren't coming to the waterfront to see shiny new sidewalks.

Wow, that thing is fucking appalling. After about ten years it will be just as decrepit as the Honolulu Natatorium or the Green Lake Aqua Theater.
12
Too bad Goldy got fired and can't advocate for a "kick-ass playground" on the waterfront. Actually, to never read that phrase again, I'm glad he got fired today.
13
Remember when we used to have concerts at the pier? I do. Then Greg Nickels came along and kissed the asses of the rich condo owners nearby and shut them down.
14
All very nice except we can't even pay for basic services in this city. This needs to wait until the basics can be funded like @5 said.
15
While we're at it, I need a zip line from cap hill to downtown, and also seasonal rainwater canals for downhill rafting. Green transportation for the masses!

It's gonna be great for the five days a year it's warm enough to use an outdoor pool. Well worth taking money from, say, ongoing police training on how not to be a racist bag of punchy-shooty.

Please wait...
