This is Florida, specifically Volusia County, where it's 'normal' to drive your car on the beach. It would be wonderful to ban that. Not surprisingly, pedestrians are hit by cars on the BEACH on a regular basis.

Why haven't beach pedestrians taken action with the "stand your ground" law, to blow away menacing beach car drivers?

Psychotic or schizophrenic, abusive husband, logical solution under the circumstances. She got out of the car, wasn't trying to rescue the kids. Psychotic episode due to pregnancy is something that happens. Abusive husband after them, she'd never be able to take care of them, what to do, he'd get custody (probably will now). The demons she was hallucinating probably weren't helpful either.
