I'd vote myself jelly donuts too if given a ballot. Doesn't mean I earned them.
2
You don't have to earn money. The wealth holders are the most prime example of that.
3
@2 poor fellow. You think you're a special snow flake don't you? Don't want to be judged by your skills and productivity but just because you're special. You're a snowflake.

Anyone wanna bet the st. Patricks day will draw 10 x as many people?
5
I thought they already had one on Feb 15?

really? the stranger pushed 15now (thanks to goldy) and Sawant (i'm not sure why, since they have almost abandoned her since). then the stranger published articles critical of 15now, they agreed with goldy to let him go, and since his departure they have moved even further in the direction of destroying 15now and sawant (it's baby steps, but it counts.)

so now they want people to rally for a cause they kinda of support sometimes?

the stranger needs to get its shit together.

which side are you on?

Nice to see Pravda...ah, I mean, The Stranger is still a part of 15now's propaganda machine.
And spare us, SPARE US the bogus number of "68% of Seattle supports a 15/hour MW." That poll was funded BY THE SAME UNION HELPING 15NOW AND WAS CONDUCTED ENTIRELY IN THE DAY TIME ON A WEEK DAY. If a poll funded by the Cato institute isn't considered non-bias, why the hell should this poll be considered anything but bias?

It's good to see that right wing trolls shilling for plutocrats have got their panties in a bunch over fair wage.

From the event Facebook page:
259 going 105maybe 3.8Kinvited

Guess folks have better things to do. Will the Stranger staffers currently making less than $15 be there?
10
Will there be a livestream of this event? We would like to watch this historic action unfold around the world. Links please I don't do facebook.

Thank you for your courage!

Question no 15/now idiot can answer: If having a low minimum wage means more poverty, then why does Sweden have such low poverty despite not having a government mandated minimum wage?
If you said it's because unions have a bigger presence there, than you're right. So instead of pushing for "15now" why aren't they pushing for "protect all Seattle worker's rights to organize"? I'm sure it's not because that slogan doesn't fit well on a campaign poster...

I wouldn't use Sweden as any kind of comparison on what would work in America. Sweden is a small country with a very homogeneous culture. Displays of wealth are actually considered ill-mannered and the children are taught to work for the greater good.

However, even that is changing now as the men are moving south for jobs and starting to marry foreigners in record numbers. The influx of refugees from other countries is changing the once homogeneous nature of their society and creating social tensions.

Nothing is free. In Sweden, you're paying over half of your income to taxes, and then you're nickel and dimed every step of the way. You want to take the bus for the day? That'll be $13 euro please. You need this paper from the government? That'll be 125 euro per document please. The bureaucracy there is incredible.

I'd much take my chances in America than live in Sweden.

Dom - it would be fair if when you write that about those of us who donated to Murray's campaign and support a $15 minimum wage, you mention that, instead of implying we are against it. Also maybe mention that the largest single business donor to Murray's campaign was Nick Hanauer, a huge proponent of a $15 MW, in fact the person who came up with that number. In fact some of the business people involved in the committee supported a $15 minimum wage before Sawant did.

Dominic is head over heels.

We've all been there. Alternating bouts of infatuation (15Now!) punctuated by moments of dissassociated critical distance ('time to have a "serious" discussion about phasing it in... like adults do').

Ah, love.

Please wait...
