Gee, could the poor ticket sales be due to the completely insane prices for this festival? We have over 50% unemployment for the youth audience this is aimed at and the tickets are $300 plus gas to the Gorge at summer prices. Ticketmaster, Livenation and Clearchannel need to get the fuck out of our state and we need to get a better venue that is closer to town. I was hoping it was going to be the White River here in Auburn, but there hasn't been a decent concert there since Radiohead ages ago.
I was so conflicted about going to Sasquatch. I really want to see new order and kraftwerk, but I really don't want to camp. Just got tickets for new order in Vancouver and now it can see kraftwerk too. Makes me happy.
@8 I don't think they're even open during the Oct-April timeframe. Same with the Gorge. Who'd want to go to an outdoor festival during those months anyway?
"The fans didn't want a second weekend" is half true. When you factor in the price of the tickets, gas to drive out there, lodging, food, throw in some booze, you're easily spending over $600 for a weekend at a spectacular venue in the middle of absolutely nothing. It ain't no Coachella...
So, this weekend of Sasquatch was the one I would have wanted to see. Mostly for New Order and Kraftwerk...BUT too expensive and camping and...UGH.
When I saw this article I was yelling (in my head) "OMG AHHHHH YAYAYAYAYAY!" To say the least I am happy it was cancelled, even if I *only* get to see Kraftwerk.
Also, this news pleases me, as it was the only thing I wanted to see from Sasquatch. Die, Ticketmaster.
