Good Morning Charles,
Indeed, I completely agree with you on this issue. I read that article in yesterday's Seattle Times with astonishment & disdain. It's hypocrisy pure & simple.This law must be revised by the state assembly. The HPD doesn't have a leg to stand on legally or ethically. Imagine the police officer's explanation to his spouse after (presumably a he) after such an "investigation". This is preposterous.

Yes, I agree prostitution should be decriminalized at least and regulated for those 18 y/o and over, M or F and gay or straight.

@1,
One caveat. I neglected to mention one other point. While I support legalizing prostitution, I don't encourage it.

@1: "Yes, I agree prostitution should be decriminalized at least and regulated for those 18 y/o and over, M or F and gay or straight."
You left out intersex, genderqueer, non-binary, bisexuals, pansexuals, asexuals, demisexuals, and cis-normative Tumblrsexuals. CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE.

Consenting adults should be left alone. Save resources for more important things. It's just another expensive and foolish prohibition.
5
I, of course, agree. ;)
6
@3,
Tumblrsexuals? Huh?:)
7
@6: Derogatory term for people on Tumblr who feel the need to define themselves and their orientation using excruciatingly specific made-up terms in order to create their own little special-snowflake category so they can be different. Example: people who identify as "pansexual" or "demisexual" and get super duper Hulk-smash pissed at people who get them confused with bisexuals.

@7,
Wow. Thanks for the clarification.

I never even knew what "cis" meant until I took a biology class that talked about cis- and trans- versions of certain chemicals that change when exposed to a particular enzyme (or light, or whatever). And then I was like "Huh!"
10
Decriminalization is the only solution. Humans have the right to consent to sex.
11
That's a pretty slim 1 page police report to think is worth looking into.
12
Absolutely.
13
Jesus dated a prostitute.
14
I think the reason for the Hawaii legislation is because some prostitutes use the fact that a sex act was actually started as a defense. It can put vice cops in a difficult position where they have to arrange to purchase services and then stop before any actual contact is made.

But yeah, ending the idea of vice cops would be a good thing.

@9 If you tell Facebook you are "cisgender" then you can select a plural pronoun!

Remember when Jimmy McNulty had no choice but to go through with a threesome while undercover?

Please wait...
