The republicans are trying to appeal to the uneducated southern folks for their votes. They have tried this tactic before among other moves like re-districting to get more poor and uneducated persons in their voting base, but is this what we want? Let's hope it doesn't work and the republican party fades away into history as the most disfunctional group of morons that ever tried to run a country.
