When will the city council acknowledge their white privilege and #cancelcolbert ?

Firing Julie Nelson was a bonehead move. Considering RSJI started under Nickels and continued to grow under McGinn, this is just another one of his public circle jerks. What wad the alternative, NOT commit to race and social justice? Put together task force to study it? Meh.

@3 Yeah, it was a really boneheaded move to put a woman of color in charge of the Race and Social Justice Initiative. Good call.

Was Silas Potter not available for the hustle...sorry "job"?

Hopefully this puts some pressure on the school district. The fear of god needs to be put back into those people.

"Hopefully this puts some pressure on the school district"

You can lead a horse to water, you can't make him drink.

So, this race and social justice order, does it do anything about the SPD's habit of beating down and/or shooting minorities with impunity? Because a reduction (just a small reduction at first! Baby steps! It will take time to wean the SPD off of their minority beating and shooting ways!) in the number of beaten or shot minorities could mean a significant improvement in justice and social order.

How about an aggressive use of testers to feret out Employment and Housing Discrimination (already used somewhat successfully). Put your money where your PR is Mr. Mayor.

He signed a piece of paper after dismantling the structure that has worked well and continued to grow via Julie Nelson. Backward not forward progress. Like so much else of Murray's first months in office. Way unimpressed.

Please wait...
