One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen was a lightning storm that I got to watch for probably 15 minutes from the window seat on board a cross country flight I was taking. Probably 10-20 bolts per minute, just incredible. I was actually tempted to yell at all of the idiots who had their curtains drawn or were wrapped up in their dopey books or ipads.
