@1, Every Seattle mayor has been a disaster. Still, Ed Murray has only been in office for a few months, and he's dealing with a toxic, militarized police culture that was created over a generation. Improvements take time.

I don't know that every mayor has been a "disaster", as much as they've been a parade of mediocrity. But it's the voters that are really to blame, isn't it? We got rid of Nickels because we were feeling put out about a snowstorm. We got rid of McGinn because we didn't like that he rode a bike. We're really pretty childish when it comes to the office of Mayor.
