so true. here are the biggest racist actions in America right now:
1. DC and Puerto rico residents denied equal voting rights under law while majority of them are nonwhite.
2. jailing so many AAs for drug possession means up to 40% of them in some big cities, the males, have no right to vote.
3. denying immigrants rights to vote is large based on racism; if there were from Canada it'd be no problem to let them legalize. or Scotland, Ireland or GB. only when immigrants are poc do we treat them harshly.
4. the senate filibuster rule and set up with states getting two each strongly discriminates against people of color; there are too few of them in many states so they lose influence.
5. past actions in things like slavery, jim crow, wealth creation, handing out land for free to whites only all over the Midwest, not blacks, etc. has tremendous impacts today.
6. letting huge parts of the nation be plagued by gun violence realy affects minorities, if it were white people who could not play in the street we'd send in the freaking national guard every day to assure safety.

I hope all of the american blacks see this situation for what it is: not a moment of stupidity by some wealthy, old, and out of touch white dude, but an unearthing of what we know to be true. The consequences of us not accumulating multigenerational weath, sidestepping basic and necessary education, and continuing this bizarre infatuation with what white's think of us has taken it's toll.

Sterling's comments and opinions are a feast for the media, but are reflective of large swaths of Americans in general. Of course, the proper reaction to his comments would be an economic backlash, not just boilerplate reactions from the likes of Lil Wayne, Rhianna and other black shills who have already been turned inside out by shapeshifting CEOs and executives who promote a rotten social and cultural narrative that most of black America readily consumes.

I would like to see scores of black players revolt by investing some of that money they received for "food, clothing, cars, and houses" into housing and transportation programs that would benefit
generations to come. Create real wealth. Take a page from the %1. Sterling still refers to black NBA players as "poor". That should be a clue.

What jarred me most about this Donald Sterling episode wasn't just his racism and stupidity. It is that his wife is suing his girlfriend. I had to get that repeated in my head "his wife is suing his girlfriend" who happens to be Mexican-American & African-American. It appears he is (was) having an affair and he insulted his GF!

This just can't get anymore surreal.

Words are easily reproducible & can be disseminated quickly to millions. Actions are ephemeral, are difficult to catch and record.
5
"Why do racist words bring more accountability than racist practices?"

It's very easy to condemn some bad -ist for their words, whereas most of these bad practices are part of larger, systemic issues, that require more than simple condemnation to address.

I kinda miss the days when men rarely made it to 80.
