I didn't know anyone was saying he WAS the left's Cliven Bundy. But then again I haven't been following the story too closely. Right wingers are so racist that even the particulars of the story (his girlfriend's African ancestry, the fact that he owns a basketball team) didn't faze me in the least.

And of COURSE he's a 'pub. He's filthy rich - that alone makes it something like 90% likely someone's a 'pub.

Apparently he donated to a democrat in 1990, so to your typical teabagger that's conclusive evidence he heads the DNC.

@9 - The right-wing sites have been cackling with glee that he's a Democrat because the only traceable political donations he's connected to were to Democrats. It's not that Dan's relieved Sterling's a Republican; Dan's reacting to Twitchy and her friends/allies in print, on line, and on the air who've been hammering Sterling as a liberal racist when in fact he's a very conservative racist. Also a slumlord, a bad boyfriend, and a bad husband.

Sterling is old enough to have been a Dem & a bigot. But the GOP has been doing their best over the past twenty years to pull in and unite bigots from across the spectrum, from the dirt poor whites to the incredibly wealthy whites.

Next the right wing will demand that Democrats return his donations.

He owns a sports team? That's what everyone knows him for? Unless he decides to use that money to run for President (like Dubya), I don't see how this could possibly effect my life.

Evidently, Jenkins had a pretty uncomfortable news conference yesterday. So, this is a mess all around.
I do feel bad especially for coach Doc Rivers and their team, the Clippers. They may lose to the Warriors as a result of this most unfortunate story. I think Sterling like former Cincinnati Reds owner, the late Marge Schott should relinquish control of the LA Clippers.
