World's largest automaker Toyota dumps Tesla battery for fuel cells!!
“It’s obvious Toyota doesn’t see a market for electric vehicles,” said John O’Dell, green-car analyst at the auto-research site Edmunds.com. “They really see the future of the zero-emission vehicle as the hydrogen vehicle,” he said.
@1 Lithium batteries, fuel cells, what is the fucking difference? You still have to charge them both with something. After all fundamentally they are both, what?, BATTERIES.
@2: Except one of them is heavy and has a small risk of fire or explosion...and the other one is explosively flammable, must be stored at high pressure, and readily leaches into and through most metals, making it extremely problematic to contain. If you think gasoline fires in car crashes are bad, wait until you see what hydrogen fires do.
