Mayor Murray: Best Mayor Ever!

No mention of The Stranger destroying the Times in trustworthiness? Also, Sawant gets high marks while SA gets low- shows that people like personalities and not parties. I wish the democratic party had been included in that pole to see if Murray/Dems get same drop off, also favorability of other council members.

But think of Seattle's very very low 5% unemployment rate far below frictional unemployment and the fact that businesses already say job applicants expect to start at $15 today.

Told you $22 in 2022 with $15 in 2015 was the compromise.

Oh and kill that stupid SR/99 Bertha Boondoggle Tunnel already, Governor and Mayor!

Sad trombone, haters.

I, for one, welcome the economics lesson provided by an immediate, no exemptions, across the board $15/hour minimum wage.

Alas the reality based component of Seattle politics is trying hard to fight off the proposal, but it could be resurrected by a ballot initiative. Please launch one.

I actually read the pdf linked to by this article. Set aside the questions organized by the pro-15now group (SEIU) and set aside SEIU gains many benefits for getting 15now passes, the poll was actually pretty eye opening.

Here are some things that stood out:
7% think Socialist Alternative party is "credible". 28% "not at all credible"
14% think Sawant is "credible". 22% "not at all credible".
to compare
21% think fast food workers are "credible". 10% "not at all credible"

So fast food worker is more credible than our own city council member. Ha.

72% are in support of a small business phase in (35% include large business phase in).
Also, having temporary credits is more supported than none or permanent.

Conclusion. It is easy to see that Sawant's and 15now proposal is far less supported than the Mayors proposal.

I say let this go to a vote on the people of Seattle. This shouldnt be decided by the city council.

@7

What really must hurt is that the Democrats and Richard Conlin couldn't beat Sawant and Socialist Alternative. Whatever voters have against Sawant and her party, they think even less of the devil they know all too well.

Please wait...
