Did he plea down to 3rd degree? Using a knife would make it 1st degree, and if no weapon was used but they were physically compelled, that's 2nd degree. 1st & 2nd are Class A felonies; 3rd is only Class C. For 5 such offenses, it seem to me he got off easy.
it's also pathetic that his wife, a King County prosecutor, was an accessory to the crime, and was charged with nothing. What kind of message does that send?
Not a King County deputy prosecutor -- Jennifer Grant was with City of Seattle Municipal Court. Very big difference.
And, BTW, she briefly served as an pro tem Magistrate for the Seattle Muni Court, appointed after she was pressured to leave the City Prosecutor's staff when the allegations emerged that she had tampered with evidence in her husband's case. She only stepped down from the Magistrate position after stories ran on KIRO and KUOW in January.
Pretty interesting to see how this might turn out with the whole Rub Maps thing. I know that site is just too awesome! Free reviews and come on, you know what you're getting into! Rub Maps FTW!!
