No, the message is that Walker knows he can't turn a buck on same-sex marriage any more. The Homophobia business model is imploding. Time for a new boogieman.
2
The hilarious thing is if he does want to run for president, he'll have to backtrack on his backtrack in order to win Republican primaries, where if he's not to the right of Jesse Helms on how much he hates the gays he won't win the Tea Party/elderly bigot vote any GOP contender has to appease. Then, should he win the nomination, he'll have to backtrack on his backtrack of his backtrack for the general election. This should be fun to watch.

He needs a call from Seattleblew.
4
He doesn't care. In Wisconsin, it's not nearly the issue it is elsewhere.
5
In what home for the mentally handicapped is this asshole on anybody's presidential radar?
6
Well he still has unions and public employees to bash, and they're not as popular as gays marrying these days.
7
It's always about the money. They just can't turn a profit on hate anymore.
8
Maybe he’s evolving… Like Obama did.

And that's "what's the matter with Kansas," or at least the GOP's social-conservative base. They pinned their hopes on the GOP, voted against their economic interests for the anti-marriage issue. Now they're throwing the issue away like standup routine, a schtick, that doesn't play any more. Maybe the GOP never really meant it. How's it feel to be strung along like that, huh?

@9 It's going to be a long while before the spittle-flecked, angry simpletons who make up the "Republican base" voter pool realize that they were being played. Or maybe never. Denial, river, Egypt, etc.

For all their smoke and talking points, the only goal of the GOP has been serving their oligarchic overlords, with increased wealth, largesse, and a pool of puppet voters to keep power for them.

The conservative "values voters" are nothing but a big box of pawns.

Scott Walker?

Do you mean the Scott Walker that, since taking office, has slowed down Wisconsin's economy, blocked wind and solar energy development and a mass transit system (completely unrelated: his largest donations are from the fossil fuel industry), turned down $100 million in Medicaid, cut funding for education, created something called the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation that was publicly mocked by everyone for how inept it was? That Scott Walker?

No, I think you might want to reconsider that road, GOPpers.

@5,

I'm with you. On what planet would Scott Walker be President of any country? Hilary must be laughing her head off.

@11: Yeah, Mitt Romney might have run a company that ate little companies and shit out their employees, but at least he was good at it. There is a certain level of respect you give to a competent dick. But an incompetent dick? I don't see him going far. He's not the most charismatic, connected, or experienced candidate. Even Paul Ryan (Wisconsin Representative) has a greater chance.

As much as I find him to be a repulsive toad, I do wish more politicians would defer to their judicial colleagues when asked matters regarding the law. Whenever I hear the phrase "activist judge," I have to bite back my impulse to stab that person in the throat. Thankfully I've only had one close call, and my TV was the victim.

Please wait...
