Unless you have access to a time portal, you can triage getting outraged over this.
2
Back to the future. Pageants still suck.

Oh, and let's not forget Dorothy Gray Salon Cold Cream where they put radioactive dirt on women's faces to test the product. Talk about an assault!
4
@2: Yes. Totally agree when you add kids to the mix.
5
Thanks for that YT link @2, that Pageant Mama is a fuhreek show.
6
@3 - That commercial is amazingly ridiculous! So weird that they'd pick radioactive dirt as a measure of "clean" Time portals!

I think this may be one of the weirdest ads of the past. Why does she have to talk like sexy Marilyn Monroe, to describe learning how to push a button on a zerox machine?!

@3: trumped by radium suppositories.

Yes in 1958, and any outrage you feel just illustrates your lack of knowledge of the social history of America (or your age). Now go on to get upset about things that are happening now.

@7
It's clear that they are saying it's so simple to use that even a dumb girl can do it. A lot like soooo many ads on today that say its so simple to use even your dumb husband can do it.
11
@9: Or in this case, the social history of Great Britain.

Yes, and Birth of a Nation was horribly racist. Not sure what the point of this post is.

@3, a geiger counter can detect alpha and beta particles. Alpha particles have low penetrating ability and are stopped by things as thin as a sheet of paper/your outer layer of skin.

That said, adding extra radioactive things around possible routes into your body (your mouth, eyes) are another matter.

@8: I want to cast and direct a commercial for that.

Please wait...
