"some compassion, rather than being vilified"

You seem to be saying things that are completely crazy. Go see a neurologist ASAP, Exene.
2
Gosh, my 21-year-old self was so infatuated with Exene. Now I don't know which to hope for: that a terrible degenerative neurological condition has made her crazy? Or that on her own volition my former crush has become a really creepy person?

*Victoria.
4
I prefer Victory Jackson now that I read it! Like "Action Jackson" but for white folk.
5
HAHAHA you're fucking joking , right? Like anybody gets the benfit of the doubt on SLOG or anywhere else.

Thanks for the laugh!
6
What does MS have to do with her being a right-wing crank?
7
No compassion for tea baggers. Even ones who may have recorded some of the most seminal albums in rock history.
8
It is kinda fun to watch her fans grappling with this.
9
See how we are?
10
So you don't like her being compared to Victoria Jackson? She's been saying for awhile now things like Sandy Hook and now this latest killing spree are hoaxes put forth to push the gun control agenda. She gets a pass for spewing that kind of stuff because X is beloved by people of a certain age and hip stripe?
11
@10 nope, her pedigree doesn't give her a pass. However, I think she has faded into some kinda mental illness sitch. She was diagnosed w/MS 15+ years ago and there seems to be some science to suggest MS can cause something like dementia. But whatever, shes acting like a crazy cat lady/tea bagger/truther, so who cares if she's sick as long as we can shout over her; it's always been easier to feel morally superior than act with some moral responsibility, right?
12
I don't think shouting over her is about feeling morally superior. Since when does The Stranger or anyone else hold back when someone spouts stuff like this? It really seems to me she gets a pass because she's Exene and that you and some of her other defenders seem to want to this is because of illness because you can't stand the idea that maybe she's just like this and maybe, therefore, was to some degree back when X was making all that music.

Most stuff I've seen about MS and cognitive function talks about memory issues and difficult completing tasks, not conspiracy theories. So are people just supposed to leave these things unanswered? I'm not happy that Ed Asner is a Truther, but it is what it is. Did Donald Trump have dementia because he suddenly became a birther? Is Victoria Jackson suffering from something? Rush Limbaugh? Tom Cruise? Do you have a list? Am I being morally irresponsible to name those folks?
13
Serious question, what delineates being an asshole with an agenda from mentally ill?

If she is, I hope she gets the help she needs, but I don't know how to separate that from people who simply age into bitterness.
14
I haven't watched her videos, though, so maybe they convey mental illness more than just tweets with offensive content. And she looks to have taken them down. Moe Tucker from the VU is a Tea Partier and Joni Mitchell thinks she has alien fibers in her body, so...I dunno. But all these folks who are "Truthers" about something or another, are they just so unable to handle the horror of reality that it's easier to imagine a vast conspiracy than senseless slaughter? Sad, whatever's going on with Exene.
15
@14: Oh yeah, I forgot about Mitchell stating she had "Morgellons". I wonder whatever happened with that. It's not like delusional parasitosis "goes away" on its own, hopefully she got the care she needs.

Please wait...
