Anyone not regularly reading The Toast is living an incomplete life.

LA is a wilted styrofoam city, it's perfect :p

Is the guy who posts the image meme (especially one we've seen loads of times before like Peter Griffin, a Star Trek faceplant, or Willy Wonka) on a comments thread more disruptive than need be?

Speaking of culture and books...

I'm reading Kurt Vonnegut's Galapagos. The reason is that it was dirt cheap on Amazon's $3.99 or less Kindle page, and also, I'm putting the Advanced Genius theory to the test. [The theory, which Chuck Klosterman had some say in, is that artists, late in their career make works that are often described as flawed, but are, in fact, far ahead of their time and hence not easily understood.]

The theory is holding up. The narrator is at a point 1 million years in the future, describing how we today (1986) had brains that were much too big for our own good, causing all sorts of problems. Like flightless birds, we evolved away from these big brains because...well, that's about where I'm at in the book.

Does anybody actually know how "The Fountainhead" ends?

The Broad looks better than ours, me thinks...

The designers of the sinking ship parking garage should counter-sue Broad's architect.

Please wait...
