You meant "libertarian wet dream", I think.

Remember, kids, the only thing that matters is that a retailer is able to provide products to you at rock bottom prices. So don't you worry your pretty little heads about this.

"The globalisation of trade has not been accompanied by a parallel extension of the rule of law transnationally."

That's key right there. It counters the idea that globalization necessarily improves standards of living and strengthens human rights. I know I used to believe that.

Thanks for posting this. I'm no longer buying any seafood, "fresh" or canned, that comes from Thailand.

I suggest that we support local fisherman when possible, and don't buy seafood imported from Thailand.

Also, remember - no farm raised fish, and absolutely no "color added" salmon. Both are a blight on the environment - seriously.

If anyone wonders where to get local, fresh seafood caught by local (and not so fresh) fisherman, Fisherman's Terminal in Ballard has a great fish market on site. Sometimes you can buy the fish directly off the boats (S/V Loki is one example).

Cheers!

According to Nick CapHill's logic, by now a non-slaving fishing company would have sprung up and displaced the slavers. Wait, one hasn't? Damn, there must be too much government regulation for them to start up!

Jesus, farmed fish was already an ecological disaster, and now this... vegetarian prawn and fish feed cannot come fast enough. I hope this entire industry gets shut down.

Please wait...
