Holy shite. This is a big deal...
2
It's nice to see idiots like Cantor get the boot. I only wish his replacement was sane. Still, one new cuckoo freshmen is a fair trade for an entrenched young gun.
3
David Alan Brat, according to Wikipedia.

Or as I can only assume his closest supporters, students, and Randian Kool-Aid drinkers call him, DA Brat.
4

Funny, because Marxist media was declaring an end to the Tea Party just a few weeks ago.
5
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome this is.
7
YYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!

One of the meanest, dumbest, most openly corrupt and destructive sons of bitches to ever set foot in the Capitol. And that’s sayin’ somethin’!

I pray to the God of politics that mitch mcstupid and his butt buddy boner lose in 2016 as dramatically as the cunt faced cantor lost recently. This is a good omen for the country! Getting rid of the republican garbage in govt. will create many avenues for job creation, environmental change and peace of mind for the American people.
9
Maybe a pickup for the Democrats?
Lyndsay Graham held on though.. Must have been those magic words ..Bengazi Bengazi Bengazi.

@ 6, The "not crazy wing of the Republican party" could fit in a phone booth.
11
@6: Cantor was a card-carrying member of the crazy wing of the Republican Party. That's what's so amazing about this, Cantor was seen as a leading member of the Tea Party just a couple of years ago. The GOP Establishment finally woke up to the Tea Party viper they've taken into their bosom.
12
I hate to say that I'd enjoy watching him cry on teevee; that would make me a bad, bad person. Snakes can't cry, so it's a moot point though.
13
Cantor is a corrupt and dishonest politician. I am glad he lost. I will bet that he ends up at some high power lobbying firm and as a frequent talking head for the establishment media.
14
So, immigration reform is dead now. That much is clear. No Republican will touch it. The Brat voters want to hurt "Mexicans" whether they are from Mexico or not. Kill them if necessary. Read the comments on those Breitbart pictures of kids in detention.

There's no middle ground here. This should give the Republicans some small gains in the short term, but they lose a Majority Leader and they lose every goddamn one of the Hispanic/Latino voters, probably forever.

@14: There's probably going to be another civil war in our life time. We never really settled our differences after the first one.
16
@9, the Democrat is still a long shot (they are both professors at the same small college), but even if the kook wins he's not going to have the power and influence Cantor did. He's going to be a third-rate back-bencher, in a party with no front-benchers.
17
Gerrymandering creates results like this
18
@17: so do open primaries.
19
Virginia has open primaries and I have heard that registered dems came out for Bart. I thinl and hope this says more about Cantor's unpopularity than it does about the state of the tea party.

The meme is that David beat Goliath. But that is not so true. Yes, their campaign war chests were VERY different. Yet millions were paid to talk show hosts, including Laura Engram, by the Koch Bros. The flying monkeys took to the air slaying Cantor, and singing the praises of Brat.

Glad to see that he'll no longer be in Congress giving the rest of us Jews a bad name.

Please wait...
