Assuming there is one, when will the hearing on this report be held before Judge Robart?

What's going on here, Dom? I get that Jenny Durkan is an old political ally of Ed Murray, but does Bobb hold those same allegiances? Why would Bobb lay down praise for Murray in light of the events of the last 6 months and his direct hand in those events?

Merrick Bobb has a unique and eloquent talent with language, both with what he says and what he doesn’t say. An “irrational and convoluted system” for officer discipline is pretty pointed, and I think nothing more needs to be said about Interim Chief Bailey. I’m glad to see some recognition for the work of the Community Police Commission. It’s not Bobb’s style to blast officials on a personal level, at least not publicly, preferring a gentler, more positive approach, as if they were children.

When you use language like "Events during the last six months have made clear that SPD’s disciplinary system is byzantine and arcane," you don’t need to name names. The judge and the incoming police chief can figure out who will stay and who needs to go. Murray is here to stay, and you gotta dance with who brung you. Maybe that’s Bobb’s thinking as relates to the mayor. I look forward to reading the report.
