Oh Sweet Jesus No! Not "UTTER SOCIAL CHAOS"!!!
That was so horrible last time when we ended formal slavery! And then the other time when we allowed people of different skin colors to marry each other! And that other time when we allowed women to vote and own property! And the other time whe--

Oh god, i can't think of it. I don't want Utter Social Chaos again! That's so, so scawy! Quick! discriminate against someone and take away their freedom! That will definitely prevent Utter Social Chaos!

Maybe he could claim the words "bigot" and "asshole" while he's at it. I'm pretty sure the reasoning is similar.

IF we're discriminating against gays, let's start with Bryan Fischer, closet case he is. That shirt, baby! Bing Crosby at the PGA in 1971!

In other news, I'd like to introduce my new punk rock band UTTER SOCIAL CHAOS!

This is the same tired argument that all proponents of maintaining every sort of social inequality have always used. We can't have democracy; that would mean chaos! We can't abolish slavery; that would mean chaos! We can't liberate women; that would mean chaos!

This is how the privileged always defend their privileges, by arguing that they are upright and orderly and the people they're oppressing are weak and disordered and incapable of self-rule. Of course, it's all bullshit; people who are born into a privileged class are just as capable of wreaking horrors as everybody else, and having privileges only makes it easier for them to commit abuses.

Shorter version: "I'm unaware that there are multiple uses of 'discrimination,' some that aren't even negative, because I don't understand 'context.'"

Apparently Presbyterians who as the saying goes "do it decently and in good order" are sowing seeds of Utter Social Chaos.
