Meh. I don't understand the need to be all cute and rhymey with these driving safety campaigns. "Click-it or ticket!" "Drive high? DUI!" "Drive hammered, get nailed!"

I followed that link about female stoners - a Stranger article from 2007. It would be interesting to have a follow up piece in light of the changes these past seven years.

Yesterday I saw an ad for Hennessey cognac about a land speed record driver. Apparently Hennessey makes you drive really fast.
5
The usual stereotyping of people who enjoy marijuana.

All of these commercials focus on male pot smokers. Are female stoners ever going to get any goddamned respect?
The obvious rejoinder is that the state sees a greater need to warn guys against bad behavior than gals - that it expects worse behavior from guys. I have no idea whether this is an accurate expectation, but it's not precisely disrespecting the ladies.

Stereotypes all stoners as being bafoons.. Carl Sagan is an example that debunks this myth. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/31…

@7

LOL, ya, because most stoners are like Carl Sagan...hahaha.

The thing about stereotypes is this: more often than not, they turn out to be mostly true.

No, they're Neil deGrasse Tyson or all of these people who clearly aren't that smart; http://karmajello.com/mind-spirit/cannab…

It's because white males are the only group that can still safely be made fun of without creating an algal bloom of manufactured outrage, including picketing and protests outside of the DOT offices.

People have driving around high on pot for the last fifty years. This is just so the government can feel like they can still control what people do to feel better.

Please wait...
