Well, the neighborhood bully, he’s just one man
His enemies say he’s on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
He’s the neighborhood bully
The neighborhood bully just lives to survive
He’s criticized and condemned for being alive
He’s not supposed to fight back, he’s supposed to have thick skin
He’s supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in
He’s the neighborhood bully
The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land
He’s wandered the earth an exiled man
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn
He’s always on trial for just being born
He’s the neighborhood bully
Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized
Old women condemned him, said he should apologize.
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad
The bombs were meant for him. He was supposed to feel bad
He’s the neighborhood bully
Well, the chances are against it and the odds are slim
That he’ll live by the rules that the world makes for him
’Cause there’s a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac

He got no allies to really speak of
What he gets he must pay for, he don’t get it out of love
He buys obsolete weapons and he won’t be denied
But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side

Well, he’s surrounded by pacifists who all want peace
They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease
Now, they wouldn’t hurt a fly. To hurt one they would weep
They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep

Every empire that’s enslaved him is gone
Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon
He’s made a garden of paradise in the desert sand
In bed with nobody, under no one’s command
He’s the neighborhood bully
Now his holiest books have been trampled upon
No contract he signed was worth what it was written on
He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth
Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health
He’s the neighborhood bully
What’s anybody indebted to him for?
Nothin’, they say. He just likes to cause war
Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed
They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed

What has he done to wear so many scars?
Does he change the course of rivers? Does he pollute the moon and stars?

In France 2 weeks ago a black led mob lynched a Roma child. Similar 2 what a black led mob in that same country did to a Jewish teen a few years ago although in that case the torture were on for almost a month. So blacks are responsible for the worst hate crimes against Jews in US history, firebomb Jewish businesses, attempt to blow up a Jewish synagogue in NJ, a pattern of anti-Asian terrorism that our media ignores. Then in Europe blacks are responsible for the worst hate crimes against Jews and Roma since WWII. Yet you still play the victim card. If you need to look at a race who feels no qualms about treating others the way they were treated you don't have to look outside your own race Charlie. Including in Seattle where black mob violence, including targeting the elderly and people in wheelchairs, has gotten zero coverage from this paper. The Stranger seems to have a blackout when it comes to this. Oh, and who tried to firebomb a gay nightclub in Seattle on New Years Eve? I think it was someone who comes from a race and religion who are always claiming oppressed status. Perhaps you should look into this. Amazing that so many black leftists are obsessed with pointing out the wrongdoings of Jews halfway across the world but are the first to try to defend or deny their equally shameless behavior that occurs worldwide. Wouldn't it be great if blacks like Charles held their own race to equal scrutiny? The world would be a much better place.
Wow, Arendt was eerily prescient. I've never read anything like that. I recall a very dear friend many, many years ago once remarking that the creation of Israel in the Near East in Palestine would be greatly problematic because of hostile neighbors. I recall another now late friend once telling me that the late Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona once recommended the Jewish State be created in Arizona, Though quite frankly, I never found out if that was true.
But, seven decades later, we are where we are and millions are living in the result of all that war, dispossession, more war, terrorism, poverty, international threat of annihilation, more war, and war crimes.
How do we find/make/broker peace? How do we get rid of Bibi and the hawks, deliver social justice and reparations to the Palestinians, get the Arab nations to dial back their conquest/destruction rhetoric, and defang Hamas? It's a Gordian Knot of interwoven problems with no easy solution. It doesn't mean we shouldn't look for one, but how the fuck does this end peacefully?
Since you want to do alternative history, please go back to 1947-48 and ask the remaining European Jews what they should have done? i.e. in founding the State of Israel? What choices did they have?
The current campaign is a half-measure, and I'm sure the RW Israelis think so too.
This is how wars were/are won. You kill your enemies and take their lands. It's how Israel got there in the 1st place.

Israel doesn't really make sense any more does it...it seems a bit redundant and hence the difficulty of supporting it.
Here you have top wage earners, Howard Stern and Joan Rivers, saying that "everyone" needs to support the homeland when they are clearly examples that their culture is very mainstream indeed right here in the United States!

But my discomfort with your quoting Arendt is that she seemed naive and didn't address the very real dilemma that the post-WW2 Jews of Europe had no place to go. People should understand that the USA . for example, would not let the displaced Jews in am immigrants. Any suggestion of Jews going back to live in Germany or Poland is sick humor.
So I am sorry you gave Arendt such prominence. She was smart but not wise.
And one bitter ironic factoid: objectively, there is enough physical room for both peoples. It's not Wyoming wide-open-spaces but the physical space of "The Holy Land" -- Israel, West Bank, and Gaza -- is big enough for the 10-12 millions to live well.
The future is a long time and it wasn't but 40 years ago that Jews couldn't buy a house in Broadmoor.
So I don't think that the Jews are unwise to have a Jewish state with its own army.

5. learn to fucking live and let live. folks who put all the blame on israel don't help to get to this solution as they excuse and encourage hamas and in effect are acting for the elimination of israel.
and look at yourself. you blame israel for not giving itself up, but you in America, in LA, you're not for giving that back to mexico. you're not for giving virginia back to native americans. so please, stop the high horse moralizing. you'd do EXACTLY what israelis doing if the rockets were aimed at you here, form somewhere 100 miles away. EXACTLY the same. in fact america invaded a country that DIDN'T ATTACK america, so puhleeze, your twisted denials of what self defense is are immoral. so are the pleas to equalize the deaths, ie, the pleas that says in effect israel has to let its people die in rocket attacks as the price of defending itself from ....rocket attacks. hamas is more of a barrier to peace than israel is.
