I suppose the next thing your going to tell me is that there's no such thing as the Amish Mafia.

I fall into the cable cesspool once or twice a year while staying in a motel or house-sitting. Shocked, SHOCKED to realize the Hysterical Channel does much the same as the Discomfiture Channel (among many others).

Know what gives me a boner? The fantasy of, oh, the 50% with above-average intelligence dumping their cable or satellite subscriptions all at once and DISCOVERing that real life has quite a bit to offer.

I remember back when the Discovery Channel was really good. Now they've gone lowbrow, going for cheap thrills rather than edification. So sad.

I still enjoy "Deadliest Catch." That seems to be a really honest depiction of everyday, working class people doing an extremely tough and dangerous job.
