How does jumping feet first into a quarry possibly relate to the ice bucket challenge? Just because the water was presumably cold? Kids have been jumping into quarries (and too often injuring or killing themselves) forever.

Enough. CA Gov. Jerry Brown's dog did it (and I'm gonna say without informed consent).

Kids playing in quarries is not an "ice bucket challenge". It's called summer time. And they drown sometimes. Many have and many will.

Sadly, not even the first death related to it. The dorky thing has it's roots in those "polar plunge" type things, and one early participant plunged into some cold northern waters, never to return.
