Small businesses are uncertain of what's to come with the new minimum wage and decide to fold up shop rather than accomodate.

Oh wait, this time it was ChefTroll. Hard to tell the difference there. My bad.
3
@1 I'm curious how many times you think you need to repeat that until people start ignoring facts and believing you.

@1

Few small business owners are the simpering cowards that you imagine them to be. If they were, someone like Andrew Friedman would have opened up a vein instead of a new restaurant.

@4, but it's cute when Goldy asserts the opposite using the same amount of evidence ?

Seems like a non sequitur. You would have made as much sense linking to the Mariners score last night.

@2: That was so not "my bad".

I've been paying my gardener's helper $15 an hour for a large project. It's expensive but budgetable if you want to accomplish your objectives. That project is ending soon and I'm not a business - but 15/hr is not going to make businesses fold up shop if there's still business to be made. As it didn't (even before law) prevent me from adding that equity (results of their labor) to my property.

Has the minimum wage even gone up yet?
11
@10, nope. The phase-in won't even start until April 2015.

We're forever in debt to your priceless advice.

That's what happens when you go apeshit, make everyone firmly anchored in physical reality absolutely certain they will die, get entire races fired from the city, then vote to destroy small businesses.

Isn't it.

Our depression is a spiritual depression.

I would like to thank Wil Wheaton and Steve Jackson for standing with female gamers and the valid critique of misogyny in gamer culture, among others.

Not that women gamers need help, mind you. There are more women gamers than there are scared little boy gamers afraid of getting cooties.

@5 - Well huh, most people here seem have figured it out, probably because the acronym is used frequently by multiple Sloggers. However, since you can't and/or you're carpetbagging, you might try the Seattle Times comment threads - the commenters there seem more at your level. I suggest leaving immediately.

@8 -You're right! You get a cookie!

@12 - "We're forever in debt to your priceless advice" is something no one has ever said to you here. Or anywhere else probably.
16
@15,
leave ? Nah, I'm moving out to West Seattle to grace you with my awesomeness.

@15: With sprinkles please.

@15 sure seems like a LWDBAH

@17 - Good choice. I'll share one with you!

Please wait...
