One of my favorite memories from the many times I've seen him... About twenty years ago a group of friends and I saw him at the Canterbury on Capitol Hill. During one song, a few people in front of us stood up. One my my friends yelled "Sit down!" and Richman immediately shot back, "Stand up!"

I saw Jonathan Richman for the first time and he was freaking amazing. Best concert I've ever seen by a long shot. That guy is amazing, in many ways,
