The show was great but don't fail to mention they played it with a giant outdoor pipe organ! There was actually a good showing of teens/20's as well in addition to us mid lifers and our 2-10 year old. (My pair of 2's and a 5 had a blast.). And Rob Crowe!

Is there a reason why you've chosen to hyphenate so many words? Am I not hip enough to understand?

I interviewed John Reis in 1997 in front of a RFTC gig at the Croc, and he said Jehu was done. I remember asking why, saying they had a good "buzz." He scoffed and said, "we had a buzz. Right. You mean like a haircut?"

Not hyphenate. Italicize. Sorry... It was early.

Jehu was sooooooooooo much better than RFTC (who wasn't really...?) and "Yank Crime" still kills also. And really come to think of it, Obits kick ass over Hot Snakes. It comes down to my preference of substance (Froberg) over style (Reis).

Bookmarked for later today - thank you thank you, Mike!

So fucking great, so cathartic. Forget a new record, I'd love the opportunity to actually see them play live just once. Is there any talk of any more shows? (and sure, I'd love a new record AND a tour supporting it, just not sure how realistic that is.)

@ 6, comparing the two bands negatively is strictly for dummies. You may not have liked RFTC's style but they were every bit as tight, intense and powerful as Jehu. Until about the time Schmacky interviewed them, anyway. They sucked at the '99 Bumbershoot, but not as much as the Blink 182 fans who swarmed the show. (If you hate them because that's whom they appealed to, that's weak.)

Damn, I forgot how great these guys were. I remember seeing them once or twice on their tours through southern AZ in the early to mid 90s and they always packed the house.

@5 Lets just say I get in trouble with my bosses if I bold too many words. I GUESS it makes Slog Out look like its flashing or something (in mobile mode), so I use italics. I think there is some worry I might give some poor soul a seizure.

Please wait...
