I haven't watched one of these in a while. Is there always that crystal chandelier hanging visually right over Obama's head like a, ahem, crown? Just sayin', kind of a poor choice given the annoying monarch shit.
2
Yup, he'll be shoveling the next 2 years.
3
"Antonio Flores says "it bothers me that [Obama] says we will be 'out of the shadows'... what shadows? ...If you have to be here for five years [to gain citizenship], that will only cover the minority of the people."

Then piss off back to your third world shack. You should be grateful that our president (not your president), President Obama, is doing the right thing. His plan sounds great. Criminals get deported, I get to keep my cheap gardening crew.
4
@1: I bet he was trolling.
5
Hey, Antonio Flores, when you break into someone’s house but the home owner says you can stay, the saying you’re looking for is “thank you”.

Otherwise, fuck off back to your Turd World shack.
6
You're a real charmer Sugartit. You should write children's stories. I recommend authoring them under the name of White Racist Cunt.
7
You lob jizz, you miss.

Since when has saying 'thank you' going out of fashion?
8
"tracking down, rounding up, and deporting millions of people isn’t realistic. Anyone who suggests otherwise isn’t being straight with you."

and yet, one of the very few things your shitty president has demonstrated any aptitude for is deporting MILLIONS of mexicans over the past six years.

weird.
9
could have given this speech and signed this order jan 21, 2009. bipartisanship was a pipe dream then just the same as today. if GOP dipshits don't like it, fucking impeach. try it.
11
@5, 7,

And there is the crux of conservative ideology. They demand those they consider beneath them grovel and beg. Only then will the conservative throw scraps, always making sure that those less well off are reminded of their "place" and that they'd better do as their told and not get uppity.

If anyone acts like an emperor or dictator, it's conservatives. They're never satisfied unless everyone else is miserable.
12
Stupid Canadian question. Is there somewhere to read that actual executive action?
13
A cynical "Make me a martyr." political stunt. Never mind the dozen times this constitutional scholar (a'hem) himself fsaid there was no legal basis for this. Regressives have become monarchists, and will rue the day that they set precedent for ambitious, defiant executives. It is as it ever was: Democratic socialism is the gateway to fascism.
14
And then there is the troubling case in McMinnville where an undocumented man stabbed a college student to death for no apparent reason. Just walked into a 7-11 and plunged a knife into the kid multiple times and ran off.

You can take all the big picture positions you want, and I get it, but if your kid went to that school you would be wondering what the heck is going on.
15
Conservatrolls in strong form here in the comments tonight.

Keep on hatin', haters. Your anger gives us Brogressives lots of strength. ;)
16
I believe that President Obama believes his words.

This is Glenn Beck levels of faith based politics. I'm all for what he's doing, but if Obama believed the trite bullshit he spouted, do you think he would have deported more people than Bush?
17
^Very well said.

18
@15
Ahh...who got their sorry asses kicked in the midterms again?
As they say in the ghetto (that white liberals avoid least they come fast to face with actual minorities) TALK IS CHEAP
19
Yes, immigration reform should pass. But does Obama propose something that is a compromise (like earned amnesty as Hagel proposed along with actually protecting the border) and announce that and say "that is my compromise, the ball is now in the GOP court?" No. He just bullies the country as usual.
Obama is an asshole, even if he is right about immigration. And yes, Paul Constant, Reagan was a worthless piece of socialist filth too for using all those executive orders. What's your point?
21
@18: Nobody in the ghetto says that.
22
@18: let's compare ghetto stories, C_S. i'll start: i went to HS in one, and then i lived that that same neighborhood for years. my mom cried the day i moved into my tenement. somehow, i'm still a white liberal.

tell your pal chuck bagel to pass a bill, then, and perhaps the Emperor will sign it. after all, he is what they call in the ghetto a "center-right democrat".
23
@22: umm... hagel, not bagel. autocorrect is anti-semitic.
24
@19 . . . I have a different understanding of Socialism. I've always thought it was proposed as an economic system, not a political system. But, as it's been used, concerning politics, Socialism has come to mean more democracy, not less. Your quote "a worthless piece of socialist filth too for using all those executive orders" doesn't make sense to me. Executive orders are toward the Totalitarian end of the spectrum. The Socialist end of the spectrum is the other end. I do credit you with a proper use of "too" in your comment. Good on ya.
25
Collectivism Sucks: How does it feel to be so dogshit stupid?
26
#16: Or maybe he does believe his words, but his policies have been determined by political expediency and contradict his beliefs. That's the problem with trying to project ideas or beliefs onto someone, and why public officials should be judged by their actions and not speculation about bad faith.
27
@18: Man, you think just because you're black you know about ghettos. You've also convinced yourself that white (or white-passing, like me) liberals are terrified of black people. I'm going to say it again: I spent four years living in a 97% black neighborhood during college, I went to a high school that was 30% black, and the family I intend to marry into is half black.

You espouse overtly-racist policies such as eliminating the minimum wage (with the stated intention of allowing minorities to work for a lower starting wage) and hide behind your skin color in order to deflect any accusations of racism, all the while declaring everyone who disagrees with you to be a racist. You once called Paul Constant a racist because he criticized a Republican's public comment without mentioning that the Republican in question is black.
I'm not going to call you a race traitor. I'll leave that to any black SLOGgers who come to my above conclusions.
28
I've always assumed that collectivism_sucks is just Cascadian Bacon in working class drag.
29
@19: The Senate passed a bill that Obama likely would sign. But Boehner can't bring it up because he knows it would pass, and then he wouldn't be Speaker any more. Yet apparently asking the Speaker to introduce a bill that would easily pass is bullying. You seem to be able to string a couple of sentences together, so how can you be so ignorant?

@10: Obama was busy during his one year of supermajority rescuing Western civilization from the predations of W. Bush. So we pulled the economy out of the worst depression in eight decades, extended health care to tens of millions and rescued the nation's largest manufacturing industry, all of which had been put on death row by Republicans. Sorry we didn't have time in that one year to address every other problem in the universe. As troll said, one would expect to hear a "thank you."
30
why not bring the drug cartels across the border too?
31
“ I spent four years living in a 97% black neighborhood during college,”

Oh lordy, I studied at U of Chicago too and to call that your ‘black’ experience is laughable. Seriously, get out of you parent’s basement in Mayberry
 sorry “Evanston”
.. and tell us more about how some of your best friends are black.

32
@31: Bitch please. I lived south of the Midway, and I can't even count the number of times I moseyed on over to 63rd & Cottage Grove or Garfield & Calumet to catch the Green Line in the middle of the night. (Pro tip: no UChicago student ever gets mugged or otherwise harassed in Woodlawn. The people who want to take your iPhone hang around 53rd/54th because that's where the students typically hang around at night with their earbuds in.) You're trying awfully hard to convince yourself that I'm scared of black people.
If you really went to UChicago, I'm sure you'll know off the top of your head who the Hot Side Hot and Cold Side Cold are. Don't bother telling me; any scrub can Google it. That is just for you.

Please wait...
