My, the "Blog-o-sphere™" sure has been buzzin' today with THE BEST NEWS EVER! Everyone's favorite roustabouts—Van Halen—are touring our United States this summer, and with none other than the first, and ONLY Van Halen frontman, David Lee Roth. Dunno if y'all have been keeping up but Diamond Dave rejoined the band in 2006 and, in 2012, they released a studio LP, A Different Kind of Truth; I've listened to ADKoT a couple times and, considering the string of vocalist Van Halen settled with over the past 25 years, it's a kick-ass record. This tour, however, is to bump their new, recorded-live-in-2013, album, Tokyo Dome Live in Concert.

Also, as a primer, they're set to play on Hollywood Boulevard for Jimmy Kimmel Live this coming Monday AND Tuesday nights (March 30th/31st) as well as playing The Ellen DeGeneres Show (!!) on April 2nd. In conjunction with the Tokyo Dome's release, the VH/DLR lineup album catalog is also getting a reissue/remaster treatment; Van Halen and 1984 will be out first (this Tuesday the 31st), followed by the balance of the albums some time this Spring.

Y'all, I was obsessed with Van Halen in 1982—I had all their tapes (!!) and Alex Van Halen pretty much taught me how to play drums, BUT I never did get to see the band with Dave 'cause, in 1982, I didn't have my driver's license yet. I can only hope they still got it live, and, by it, I mean DLR still has most of his voice, high kicks, and enough of an ass to sport his infamous seatless trousers.

The tour starts July 5th, in Auburn, at the White River Amphitheater.
