Bramling Cross Opens on Ballard Avenue

The menu at Ethan Stowell latest restaurant, Bramling Cross, runs the gamut from familiar pub fare (chicken wings, burger, wedge salad) to less expected items like raw oysters, pork osso buco, and a “duo of liver” (chicken liver mousse and seared foie gras). The gastropub, named after a variety of hops, pours eight taps of “ultra-local” beers mostly from North Seattle breweries, including Holy Mountain, Populuxe, and Stoup, and also stocks bottles and cans of more than 20 domestic and imported brews.

Mollusk Will Debut This Saturday, October 31

Mollusk, the highly anticipated new restaurant and brewery in South Lake Union from Epic Ales and Gastropod owners Cody Morris and Travis Kukull, will have its grand opening this Saturday, October 31 (aka Halloween). (Rather than run multiple locations, Morris and Kukull decided to permanently close Gastropod and Epic's Sodo location last month.)

There are no menu details yet, though we do know that Kukull will focus on a rotating menu of Southeast Asian curries. But it looks like there's even more to look forward to: Eater Seattle reports that the lunch chef will be Miles James, most recently of Hitchcock, who will also "be in charge of charcuterie."

Mighty-O Donuts Opens Capitol Hill Location on Halloween

Another Halloween opening, this one on Capitol Hill: On Saturday at 7 a.m., Mighty-O Donuts will begin serving their certified organic, un-artificially-colored-or-flavored, cholesterol-free vegan doughnuts at the corner of Madison and 12th Avenue, in the former home of High 5 Pie. To celebrate, they're holding a weekend-long grand-opening celebration and giving away free mini-doughnuts. Additionally, if you come dressed as your favorite superhero, you'll be entered to win a doughnut a day for an entire year.
