Its really hard to paint this as anything other than a huge victory for John Gant. May have even earned my vote. I don't think Burgess is as moderate as people sound, he's just a former cop/lawyer and sees things through that lens. Nice to have good candidates.

the Theodora was owned by the VOA. the tenants didn't seem to fight too hard.

I take solace that Triad isn't tearing down a mid-century masterpiece for a hardi-sided, vinyl-windowed 5/1.

Taking a political candidate's supporters' word on faith about what's in a legal settlement and running with a story a week before an election? That's ballsy, Ansel.

"...the tenents didn't seem to fight too hard." Fighting for years and filing a lawsuit against one of the most powerful real estate developers in Seattle, isn't good enough for you, or do you live in a fucking cave?

@1, Burgess isn't a lawyer; he's just a covertly rightwing politician. He's going to run for mayor whenever Murray runs (or gets appointed) to take McDermott's place in Congress.

Prime real estate in the heart of downtown? Cancel this deal! The city could make much more money rebidding this cite today than what Triad got for it in 2007. Then throw in the same affordable housing contingencies.

@5 The City Council will appoint Harrell when Murray moves on. Burgess is getting paid to hold the fort together until then.

Please wait...
