With 14 more ballots counted, Lisa Herbold remains ahead in the very, very close race for a city council seat representing District 1 (which covers West Seattle and South Park).

Most of the ballots in that race have been counted, but the county elections office is now working through a few hundred that have signature problems or other issues. In today's small batch, just 11 of the 14 ballots had a vote for either Herbold or her opponent Shannon Braddock. Six of those went for Herbold and five for Braddock, proving just how close this race will be until the very end.

While both candidates are progressives, Herbold, an aide to city council member Nick Licata, is seen as the leftier of the two. Braddock is currently a staffer for county council member Joe McDermott and got business backing during her campaign.

Herbold now leads by 24 votes. An automatic recount is likely to be triggered once the results are certified next week.

Two weeks after the election, the District 1 race remains the only one without a clear winner.
