Did a Stranger reporter seriously just type "what the living fuck"? If so, every living fucking other thing he wrote is immediately moot.

"You know, it is, today the global warming alarmists are the equivalent of the flat-Earthers. You know, it used to be, it is accepted scientific wisdom the Earth is flat, and this heretic named Galileo was branded a denier."

WTF?!?!? Galileo was put under house arrest by the Church Authorities, because he pushed hard on heliocentrism, given he supported his point with heliocentrism with this thing called "Science", like observing the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, besides pushing that space was a vacuum, (Which the Roman Catholic Church in the early 17th Century to the 18th Century said didn't exist)

Ted Cruz is not an idiot. He comes across as an idiot to us Free Range Lilac smelling Lib-ur-als, but given his background is Law and Logic, he is just using argumentative techniques to make Iowa Evangelicals feels good about themselves and their Pig manure filled heads.. He is being duplicitous rather than idiotic.. This is a guy who tries to make an argument, no matter how batshit crazy, and after awhile believes in the propaganda he is trying to sell..

Cruz knows he's Gish Galloping. He's the water boy for Big Oil and Coal, just like Inhofe.

Deny, obfuscate, whatever it takes to defer actual action on Carbon Emissions.

This is a creep who was hated by everyone in his dorm his very first year at Princeton.
4
He's dangerously close to losing the Flat Earther vote with this talk.
5
Everything I've seen about Cruz says he's super smart. Really, really smart. Top of his class at Princeton/Harvard kind of smart. But they also say that he was the biggest asshole at both universities (as an undergrad, and of all time). I loathe him because he knows exactly what he's doing, he knows how wrong it is, yet he still does it anyway.
6
How can anyone look at that smug, smarmy face and not instantly begin punching?
7
How do the roughly 2% of people who even care about climate change all end up working in the media?

@2: I get the feeling that this was a prepared speech with Columbus as the example, but someone explained that that wasn't true either, they should use Galileo, and he said "ok" and just changed Columbus to Galileo.

@5: Yeah, we are too quick to ascribe to stupidity what is more likely the result of malice.
9
I think it's funny how the Left refers to the universal scientific consensus on global warming, but refutes the same universal consensus with regard to GMO in food and vaccines.
10
We need to stop referring to these politicians as stupid, dumb, ignorant, etc. They are anything but. They are placating to the stupid, dumb, ignorant people of this country and keeping them that way on purpose.
11
To note: Common Core is a set of standards, not curriculum. It's creation was via many, many dollars from Bill Gates and the people who ending up doing the actual writing? Not an educator among them (oh, they got "input" from teachers but no teachers wrote them.)

The strange bedfellows place is one where Tea Party people meet anti-corporate ed reform people.
13
Ted Cruz is not stupid. We think this at our peril. He's smart and shrewd and good at politics.
14
#9: I'm on the left and most of my friends are on the left, and not a single one us believe that vaccines or GMOs are bad. I think you might be mistaking hippies and new age types for the left. It's just such a strange accusation, and based largely on a media myth: Everyone is California and the PNW are leftists and liberals!
15
#13: You can be a great politician and still be an idiot on any number of topics.
16
Cunning, ambition and opportunism =/= intelligence, as politicians prove time and again.
17
Smart and fucking nuts are not mutually exclusive. " This is a guy who tries to make an argument, no matter how batshit crazy, and after awhile believes in the propaganda he is trying to sell.." is a description of how he is fucking nuts.

Please wait...
