No matter how you feel about Pearl Jam's music, you can't deny the veteran Seattle rock band's philanthropic instincts. Currently, Pearl Jam and the group's manager, Kelly Curtis, have pledged to donate $125,000 to the United Way of Genesee County to help residents of Flint, Michigan deal with the toxic tap water in their region. Several other companies and organizations associated with the band—including Republic Records, Ticketmaster, Universal Music Publishing Group, and Live Nation—have bolstered that amount with another $175,000. As generous as those sums are, more money is necessary to address the needs of the affected population. You can contribute to the CrowdRise fund here.
