Apple needs only to abandon Intel CPUs and favor a completely proprietary chipset that nobody will adopt, thus raising the cost of desktops and laptops by about $250 each.

Marketing can say whatever they want about how its 1,000 times faster than Wintel, but with no cross compatible benchmark programs to compare the two (because the chipset is also locked down), they'll easily be able to get away with it.
