You Are Alive Because I Dread Jail

Comments

1
A simple "GO FUCK YOURSELF" will suffice.
2
"please go suck a supersize bag of donkey dicks" = awesome.
3
My favorite IANON ever! And truth be told, who hasn't wanted to pound a La Douchie at one time or another.
4
A few things here.

First off, years or even decades of martial arts really doesn't mean shit in a real fight. How accustomed are you to getting punched in the nose or the gut or the bollocks? Are you aware that most real fighting is ugly and typically ends on the ground with one person getting punched in the face repeatedly? Additionally, this appeal seems like something I would have heard from some pimply, insecure shit in the schoolyard: "You bettah shut your mouth I'mma karate your ass."

Now, as to your concern about going to prison: I'm not sure you would, and if you did you wouldn't for long. Temporary insanity with the rage resulting from the reducing the real pain of your kin to trying to provide everyone in the country with affordable healthcare? Also, assault and battery would likely just get you a slap on the wrist for a first-time offense.

So, what I'm saying is that you shoulda punched that guy right in the face, pussy--acting all tough while being afraid of wimpy consequences. It's unsurprising though, for I've never met a tough Jew--hahahaha.

#4: who says "bollocks"?

and generally, as a matter of law, larouchies can't be victims. like a reverse insanity defense. so fire away!
7
I am not american and I know my question might sound dumb: would someone care to explain to me why universal health care would be wrong? I mean, what are the objections (I am really asking, I am an Ob/Gyn from a latin american country, worked all my life in a public hospital where patients are seen totally free of charge (and my salary is paid by the city) and quite can't imagine why wouldn't it be like that for poor people everywhere.
8
@5 Ha!
9
Oh, Thank you! I have long lauded the guy who spat on a Larouche supporter because I long to do the same thing every time I see their ridiculous incendiary nonsensical little posters. Morons.

http://publicola.com/2010/03/25/the-morn…
10
I do not like the followers of LaRouche. They also put up offensive posters and talk nonsense on the East Coast, so I applaud your desire and, as a non-violent person, your restraint.

@ #7 - As for healthcare I'm afraid that big insurance and drug companies are far too powerful here in the US. It is essentially a dead issue at this point, and I fear it may always be. Far too many of the disappearing middle-class here swallow the propaganda that people in countries with public health systems are miserable, over-taxed and not properly cared for. They ignore the reality that, eventually, most of us may need public health, but it won't be there.
11
@3: I'm with you!!

@10: Sickening, isn't it?
12
when I first saw the hitler/obama posters, i was angry, too. I didn't realize they were referring to his universal health care plan, though. Lately, through the extension and expansion of (un)patriot act, extreme expansion of DHS and "see something say something," irradiating and molesting air travelers, unconstitutional searches of people getting OFF trains, NDAA and killing american citizens w/o trial, labeling of everyone who disagrees with the administration as "terrorists" I can start to see the comparison. sadly, we're a lot closer to nazi germany than you'd think. sure, it may have started under bush, but look which direction we're going!
13
@7: Because the Republicans in this country would rather let people suffer than allow the other side a win.

Best I-Anon ever. Finally one I didn't roll my eyes at.
14
They did the Hitler thing with Bush, too. And Cheney. And Clinton. It's their schtick

As far as THAT goes...I'VE never met a bigot with fully developed genitals.

(in other words...back at ya, Adolf!)
16
love the illustration.
17
#4 you are the toughest guy I know on the internets. I bet you spend all your free time trawling the streets for martial artists and then taking them down punching them in the face just to prove they wasted all those hours in the dojo.
Can I have your number incase I get into a real, ugly, punch you in the bollocks, street fight?
18
#4 and the douchebag tea freaks suck my nuggets......but why do I immediately turn off when the speaker bothers to mention his size and especially when mentioning martial arts experience? Ugh...big whoop. What were you writing about again? Your ego got in the way of a good complaint.
19
This is my experience with Larouchies: They try to convince you that protecting the environment is somehow anti-human and that you're totally brainwashed for not believing humans ought to just populate the shit out of everything everywhere and space, too! The arrogance of these people is astounding, and I fully believe they are a lot of narcissistic, maladjusted children who are completely full of shit but unable to see it because it would damage their severely fragile egos. Of course, I don't know every Larouche fan; maybe there's a good one somewhere.

@4: I don't know about martial arts, but I know about an insanity defense. They're flimsy and fail to work in the majority of cases, especially where there is no documented history of mental illness. He could easily do jailtime. Also, do you know what happens when someone *is* found not guilty by reason of insanity or guilty but mentally ill? They're often involuntarily committed for some amount of time. So yeah, awesome option there.

But please, keep running your mouth and inciting violence; it's so becoming.
20
@18 Plus, 200 pounds isn't that big really. Unless you're 5' 6".
21
#7: You are clearly a communist.
22
"Please go suck a supersize bag of donkey dicks."

Pure literary genius.

Study this one, Mudede. Over and over and over.
23
Are we talking about Lyndon LaRouche? Is that still even a thing?
24
@7: Many Americans believe it is their right to keep all their money, and it's debated as to whether or not the constitution agrees. Many Americans hate the idea that they are taxed to pay for the salaries of professors and firemen (who just sit on their asses all day!) already, and the idea that they should have to pay for someone else to get their vadge checked out is abhorrent.

It's this whole "take care of your own damn self" attitude, combined with "I earned this money" and also, many Americans really do not take very good care of themselves: for what logical reason do we have to pay for the chain-smoking, cheetoh loving type two diabetic's care, which he invited upon himself? It's very culturally ingrained. If we had all grown up with your system, we'd probably think *not* having it was boloney.

It goes back to the way England treated us, I think, before we broke off: taxes for everything, freedom for very few. It's also why we are so inherently distrustful of the government... very few people they're using our money for the right stuff. We're still figuring it out. I understand both arguments (healthcare for us all means that our society is healthy, and that's good!). If a substantial portion of my paycheck just started disappearing, and I haven't been to a doc in years, I think that would irk me, too.
26
The taxpayers are going to pay for the healthcare of poor people one way or another, for at least as long as the Hippocratic Oath still applies to ER docs. Would you rather pay up front to get all people the proper preventative care, or pay a whole lot more down the line in ER and ICU care for the same people's maladies that could have been managed or even prevented with proper up front care?
27
The taxpayers are going to pay for the healthcare of poor people one way or another, for at least as long as the Hippocratic Oath still applies to ER docs, I say. Would you rather pay up front to get all people the proper preventative care, or pay a whole lot more down the line in ER and ICU care for the same people's maladies that could have been managed or even prevented with proper up front care? Maybe I'm just a pragmatist, but to me it's an obvious choice even without the (to me) equally obvious moral argument.
28
I'm taxed at 48%. 48%!!! and still school budgets are slashed, there is no healthcare, and firemen demand extra money to put your house out. 48%! for what?? corn subsidies? war? fracking?
29
@26/27: Do you think that if we were taxed more for healthcare people would really get "preventative care"? Preventative means people take care of themselves: exercise, not smoking, avoiding stressful jobs and highly risky behavior, eating healthy foods, avoiding other known carcinogens in large quantities... all of these sounds like ways to live. And taxing us more could never enforce that people live better.

Or maybe you mean that if it was free, people would go to the doctor at the first sign of a problem, which is cheaper than waiting until you're almost dead to head to the hospital. I still don't think that's how it would be, at least not for many generations. Out of fear and habit and being busy, I don't think people would get into the doc as soon as they should unless it was truly pressing--this is about the same as it is now.

I'm on board with prevention, but no amount of taxing will help that happen.
30
@28 You're absolutely full of shit, especially considering that the highest income tax bracket is 36% and WA has no income taxes.

You're probably doing that bullshit where you count your taxes against your taxable income as opposed to your real income, for which taxes could be infinite %, if you arrange your life correctly. In any case, you're doing it all wrong.
31
Yeah, as Lewis Black pointed out recently, living in a democracy sure can trying. Everyone can say just about anything: polarizing, hurtful, misguided, just plain stupid and maybe dangerous. We talk and talk and talk and talk for years without anything ever getting done. We're still discussing Roe v. Wade forty years after it was decided. Marriage equality will be the next thing that talked about endlessly - passed, revoked, and hopefully passed again.

You just have to tell yourself, I suppose, that things like LaRouche is just the anus of democracy...maybe not even because we all need an anus, right?

I applaud your anger, Anonymous, and I applaud your restraint even more.
32
@7:"can't imagine why wouldn't it be like that for poor people everywhere."

Neither can we....

@24: Good insight

@28: Hire an accountant. NOW!
33
@7 Several posters have illuminated some of the reasons why universal healthcare is a problem for the Republican right (how ironic is that term?) in our country but what it boils down to is this: One of the most basic childish ways to convince yourself of your superiority is to belittle those who are not you. "I'm better because you are worse." It's the perfect working technique for dealing with anyone from a different ethnic background, income level, faith, sexual orientation, culture, etc. Combine this with the blanket racism that will forever refuse to admit that a black man was freely elected and is in fact our president and you are left with the current situation here in the USA wherein everything Obama says, does, or is in any way connected to will be denounced and vilified by the republican/conservative/right.
34
i feel the same way when an ACLU idiot asks if i have time for them..

when my son can say merry christmas in school i may not feel the urge to throttle him into oblivion..!!
36
@28: If you're being taxed at 48%, you need to see a tax attorney and a financial advisor TODAY. Nobody pays that amount, not even the working class.
37
LaRouchie = LaDouchie
38
I think I Anon should go to Florida, seek out one of these LaRouchies, do what comes naturally, and then claim the "Stand Your Ground" defense.
39
@33, playing the race card too much effectively turns it into the Joker. People have hated universal healthcare for far longer than Obama has been in office and I don't think his race and their hatred of socialized medicine can really be correlated.

And also, not everyone who isn't that into universal healthcare is a right-wing Republican.
40
Well, it is pretty much impossible to honestly call yourself a progressive and believe that we should go on having to pay for our healthcare out-of-pocket, individually, with NO price controls(btw, did you know that the largest single bloc of money a pharmaceutical corporation spends is spent not on research on development, which is what they SHOULD spend it on, but on ADVERTISING?)and that healthcare should be treated as a commodity that makes a few ceo's insanely wealthy rather than a human right that any decent society naturally provides for everyone.

Putting in recycling baskets and watching the Pride parade from the corporate boardroom doesn't make up for defending the medical-industrial complex.
41
This I, Anon rocks!

@39- Actually the idea of universal healthcare is popular and has been for a while. It's the idea of a mandate that is not popular. The problem is that the mandate is what will lower costs, and there isn't any cost cutting measure that will ever be popular. You have to have one to make it work, though.

@29- I have been without insurance in the past and have known other people without coverage. I can guarantee you that not having coverage makes you very reluctant to get any preventative care, or even regular care. Sometimes you put up with the pain and hope it goes away, but then you get unlucky and end up in the ER. After getting on health insurance I was much more likely to get something checked out right away. And because I was going to the doctor's office more often, I was able to get advice about losing weight that actually worked for me.

There is one more thing that gets in people's way: not being able to take time off. Low-wage hourly workers can't take a sick day without sacrificing pay that they can't afford to give up. Fortunately, I'm not in that position but it would be a good idea if people could get a limited number of paid sick days to make sure people are getting preventative care and not passing on contagious ailments to coworkers or customers.
42
Do what I do:

Engage them in conversation and just fart really loudly, and constantly. Not only does it make them really uncomfortable, it scares away other people from talking to them.

Or get a stack of Real Change from somewhere and set up shop next to them acting hyper crazy.

Or, act like you are one of them and say some really outlandish shit to really fark up their actions.
43
Original poster, the killing of any LaRouchie is an act of public service. I will find a way to get on the jury and vote to acquit!
44
@41, I stand corrected; you stated it more correctly. I still think Obama's race has little to do with conservatives being against the policy.
45
what a bitch...thinkin' maybe something else is going on there besides your having dark skin. I have been in Seattle forever, yes, lots of white folks around and most are very respectful.
Has anyone ever said "drama queen" to you?
46
Laugh, I thought I'd die!!! Missy, I think your problems only begin with your preception of your color.
Before I bore you, there is NO known cure for a drama queen.
blessings
47
Laugh, I thought I'd die!!
You are all down on your color? All I got to say, there is no cure for a drama queen... now come on, missy, what's really bothering you?
48
Stop giving the laDouchies attention. Stupid internet tough guys.
51
sooooo... sgt_doom, are you a fan of larouche or not? I seriously couldn't make sense out of that ramble. too many clever insult nicknames and abbreviations for me to really comprehend what you were getting at. to be fair, i'm two beers deep... but... two, not 12.

so what are you saying?
52
Leave Sgt Doom alone, he's clearly mentally ill and has some schizoaffective tendencies despite his passion for politics. Just ignore him.
53
Like the poor in this country don't have their healthcare paid for by someone else.

Obamacare just spreads the love to more hospitals and insurance companies.

Me? I got my waiver, did you get yours?
54
@51: I think he's trying to write a sonnet.
55
oh no! an angry jew!
56
50: What are you even talking about? There isn't even a standing question of "who" being posed anywhere in any comment or the original article. You should join up with the LaRouchebags, man, I think your Dadaist approach to modern discourse will go over well.
57
At first I thought the letter smelt a little of Internet Tough Guy, but then I read the comments.

Some of you people have unmanaged mental illnesses, is all I'm saying.
58
I think people have a freedom of speech and free thought in this country and posts like this are why I dont want to live in Seattle. If, say, they were predicting fallout, you shouldnt turn a blind ear or rage because you dont want to hear it. Ive noticed that there is a willing ignorance on the part of some of the anonymous writers. Perhaps that is why they wish to remain unknown, lest they be held accountable for what they say.
59
@58, free speech guarantees you the right to say what you want to say without government censorship. It doesn't have anything to do with freedom from consequences originating from your fellow citizens if you say something incredibly inflammatory and offensive.
60
Fuck you fascist assholes. Here are the facts:

1) Obama ranks with George W. Bush, Bill Gates and Adolf Hitler as one of the biggest global assholes in world history.

2) Obama's "mandate for universal health care" is bullshit, just like everything else Obama has done.

3) Even if Obama's health scare initiative was genuine, it would still be STUPID to suggest that anyone is comparing Obama to Hitler because of it. The comparison relates to Obama's multiple wars (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya and maybe Iran), unmanned drones, obsession with assassinating U.S. citizens and on and on.

I find it amazing that The Stranger likes to characterize me as unhinged or plagued by an anger management problem every time I run for office, yet you turn around and publish this obscene bullshit, which is riddled with veiled threats (along with some that aren't so veiled).

Of course, this piece was written anonymously - or was it? And what about most of the people posting responses...are they working for The Stranger, or the Seattle Chamber of Commerce?

As one assclown wrote, "Original poster, the killing of any LaRouchie is an act of public service. I will find a way to get on the jury and vote to acquit!"

In that spirit, any freedom fighter who blows up the offices of The Stranger is performing a public service. Fuck you right-wing shitheads.

Just so everyone impressed with the "suck a bag of dicks" line knows, he's ripping off Louis CK. Yes, he added in "supersize" and "donkey" but that's it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzbURUrgQ…

As to everything else, comparing the current leader to Hitler is what every opposition group does these days. Remember McChimpyBushHitler ( http://hodja.files.wordpress.com/2009/02… )? Imagine the (justified) outrage if that was used on Obama?

Not taking a side here. In fact, I'm calling all who make these sorts of insults self-defeating idiots.
62
THESE PEOPLE (ESPECIALLY THE WOMEN) NEED TO BE WARNED!!!

Apparently, their organization's central office hasn't been warning their volunteers about a small string of sexual assaults that have taken place in the PNW over the past few weeks.

I spoke with two women demonstrating in South Center yesterday who hadn't heard anything about it. I guess it's been covered very sparsely in the news -- I can't remember where I read about it.

This predator seems to be exclusively targeting younger women who man these anti-obama hitler mustache sign kiosks.

If you see Larouche volunteers holding these signs, please warn them about the rapist at large. Encourage them to use the buddy system when leaving their demonstration sites, especially at night.

Whether you like what they're doing or not, no woman deserves to be the victim of a sexual assault.
63
#4...bite my fat jewess ass.
64
To Internet Tough Guy-tard #4: if you knew JACK SHIT about fighting, you'd know that you can EASILY and QUICKLY pound someone into the ground if a) you surprise them and b) have years of martial arts training. Which is what the original Anon is talking about. Sounds to me like you don't know this because you have no training, and no conception of what training would be like. Just focusing on strength, speed, and accuracy for years can make a person insanely fast, accurate, and powerful compared to an untrained shmuck, such as a typical LaDouchie.

Next: a "temporary insanity" plea is next to impossible to get. For one thing, you need to be insane enough to be UNAWARE that you'd be facing criminal charges, which the original Anon is not. If you knew anything about the Law, you'd know this.

Finally: YOO SHUDDUP OHR SOMTHIN' GONNA KICK YO ASS, FOO'!

Please wait...
