I am going to go down to Elliott Bay and buy a brand spankin' new copy of the The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian before the week is out.
In a crappy world that's pretty much going to hell (I probably need to stop reading posts about drivers and cyclists, not to mention those about sociopaths leaving cats in harm's way, the financial crisis, abused toddlers--okay that's enough), I am grateful to contribute to Alexie and Forney's "post-ban bump in sales." At least I can strike out against retarded prudery, if only in a small way. Plus, I love Alexie's writing (I'm too tired and not a competent enough writer to elaborate here--like anybody cares), and w/ the added bonus of Forney's excellent illustrations (I've been checking out her work since Bi-Bi--or was it Bye-Bye?-- Birdie was in the Stranger) I wouldn't miss it.
There was absolutely nothing in Sherman Alexie's book that fits that moron's description. What a tight-assed, prune-faced priss. I feel sorry for his son- can you imagine what hell he's living through because his dad's a dickhead? Enough to turn a straight boy gay, just out of spite it would seem to me.

I will also send copies to the school board so the dumb-asses can actually read the book and make an informed decision.
To Ellen and Sherman: LOVE YOU!
