When I worked at the Four Seasons I had a clothing allowance of 2K per year to spend on clothes. I used to go into Barney's just for the fun of it. One of their suits would have blown my complete allowance, so I stuck to Nordstrom for shirts and suits, but always tried to buy a tie or two at Barneys.
