The Normans of France experience the same soul-sucking fall weather as Seattleites; they remedy the situation with lots of cream, apples, meat, and calvados. Boat Street Cafe promises a night of warming-up with its fourth annual Normandy Dinner—it starts with oysters fireside on the patio (the announcement warns, “bring a warm jacket”), then dinner with cider, root vegetables, scallops, pork, rich cow’s milk cheeses and more. It's $95, but bound to be great, with all the good French wine you can drink.
