Lauri Chambers: Selah

Selah is a Hebrew word that is a "notation or instruction in musical and written texts to pause and take a moment for reflection or emphasis between one action and the next." Lauri Chambers has created nine new oil paintings—rendered with sheetrocking knives, rubber mallets, razor blades, rags, and green scrubby kitchen pads—to build on and work with this idea of intentional pause.
