Only a few years ago, Globelamp’s Elizabeth le Fey was best known as a Foxygen backup singer and video star, but now she’s got her own career and her own set of famous fans, like Weetzie Bat author and collaborator Francesca Lia Block (the name Globelamp comes from Block’s YA novel Dangerous Angels). Le Fey, a California native, first made a mark as part of the Olympia punk band Meowtain. Since then, she’s toured with Michael Rault and released two albums, including 2015’s The Orange Glow, a glitter-folk reverie in which her witchy vocals wander through an enchanted forest of gypsy guitar and ghostly harmonies. At her quietest, she evokes Joanna Newsom; at her loudest, she gives Suede’s Brett Anderson a run for the money. KATHY FENNESSY
