Every year, as the cherry trees given by Japan’s former prime minister to Seattle erupt into bloom, the Japan America Center Seattle mounts a festival of Japanese and Japanese American culture with crafts (origami, kiri-e, chiyogami dolls, and more), games (go, "traditional toys"), ikebana, tea ceremony, martial arts, and koto and taiko music.
