UW MFA alum and 2013 Stranger Genius Rodrigo Valenzuela recently accepted a faculty position at UCLA. For Closed Quarters, he returned to Seattle as a curator. An exhibition of video art that highlights the relationship between domestic environments and privacy, gentrification, and intimacy, Closed Quarters presents the work of Zachary Fabri, Shana Hoehn, and Kenneth Tam. Taken as a group, these three works represent distinct strategies for investigating the potential of domestic spaces as sites of vulnerability to tease out the poetics—and potential—of how we relate to each other as bodies.
